In a dream,
The skies burned red,
Apathy painted upon women’s hearts,
Pumping blood into oceans.
Consuming love in children forsaken,
Leaving empathy curled in stale winds,
Feasting on corpses bloated from time.
Swallowed by our mother,
Forgotten by your so called father,
Dropping hints crumbling man,
Pursuing positions helping goods.
Tooled at hand,
Hanging bodies 13 deep for something more then man.
Awaken and cold,
Sweet so thick, choking breath,
Stepping to stumble as window’s bleed.
Fuzzy in haze exposing life exploding tears,
Rubble ending peace,
Resting claims this mighty nation made.
Thinking your saviors meant for another,
Since feeble mind in weak eyes judge this land.
Weeping crude tears turning brothers,
Donating to cross’s burning red.
Listening as speeches fall silent,
Fading times waiting seven days.
Dreaming to sleep,
Opening eyes to see,
Speaking to be unheard.
Realizing that sleep never came,
Just frozen in space,
Watching this television cry.
Peeping sadness nightly,
News filtered for our view.
Wishing I was a wrong,
That I didn’t see,
A sheep like the rest,
Slaughtered for a life tattered.
Allowing peace to reign,
Yet now I hear his call.
Closing eyes as the Sandman spins,
Finally showing the way,
An escape damning reality,
A nightmare bringing fear into my home
